Recently, one of my contributions was published on a leading online magazine of Pakistan "Parhlo". Unfortunately, it was quite edited and the whole article was not published. For this reason, I'm uploading my complete article, so that it can reach the people in its complete form.
It has always been a pleasure
watching Coke Studio from the very first day it went on-air. This sensational yet uniquely arranged musical venture is
itself a great tribute to the legendary
musicians and singers of Pakistan. A music program that stands out in the whole
world because of its never getting old musical concept and the way it has molded
the soulful voices of young Pakistanis with its mesmerizing and heartwarming
music techniques.
Recently, an uptown lad from
Karachi tried his guts to present an amazing tribute to none-other-than Danyal Zafar who himself is just fresh in the music
industry. Danyal is the younger brother
of the famous actor, singer and model Ali Zafar who have been connected to this
field for quite a long time now. Hamza J. Sheikh, who is an Advertising
student, pursued his passion for singing
in a very different way. Hamza loves to sing whenever he gets ample time from
his studies. A few days back, he randomly sang
a few lines of his ever favorite song from Coke Studio Season 10, Muntazir by
Danyal Zafar and Momina Mustehsan and uploaded it onto his YouTube Channel and Facebook Fan Page. He then tweeted the
same song on one of the social media portals “Twitter,” tagging Coke Studio, Danyal Zafar,
and Momina Mustehsan. My God, this was
his lucky day as in just a few minutes Coke Studio itself took the pleasure to reply
to Hamza’s tweet, appreciating his amazing voice and great effort.
But that was not all, as there
was something more exciting coming up. There was a retweet from Mr. Danyal Zafar
himself that made Hamza’s day one of never ending and unforgettable moments. It
was a tweet that appreciated Hamza for his great musical tribute and effort.
Hamza has been into skies after this amazing interaction by the people
themselves and this, in turn, has boosted
his courage to bring out something more splendid next time.
Hamza J. Sheikh is a die-hard fan
of Ali Zafar. He is completely inspired by Zafar’s musical journey and wants to continue his singing passion along
with his studies. Other than his tribute to Danyal Zafar, Hamza has also personally
performed some amazing covers by Ali Zafar especially his PSL-2 Anthem. It was
a great tribute to Ali Zafar that crossed more than 66k views. Why don’t we
have a sneak look to some of his amazing work and appreciate his utmost effort
towards our strong music industry:
